Welcome to our Beginner Group Class Schedule and Course Description page.
- If you are a complete beginner, you will start with A1.1 and may enroll directly online.
- If you have any Spanish experience at all, please take the level test and we will let you know which group is most appropriate for you. You may enroll after the start date if you have skills commensurate with the the group in session. We will prorate the cost for the remainder of the series.
BEGINNER
A1 - 45 hours
At the end of the A1 course (Divided into A1.1, A1.2 and A1.3 sessions) you will be able to understand and use familiar everyday expressions and basic phrases aimed at satisfying concrete needs; introduce yourself and others and interact about personal details such as where you live, people you know, and things you have; as well as describe places, express necessity, desire and opinions about places, food, people and clothing. You will also begin to speak about the past and be able to have simple conversations provided the other person speaks slowly and clearly. ADVANCED BEGINNER
A2 - 45 hours
At the end the A2 course (Divided into A2.1, A2.2 and A2.3) you will be able to communicate in a basic way about immediate areas of relevance such as personal and family information, shopping, local geography and employment; communicate in matters requiring direct exchange of information such as familiar and routine matters and personal situations such as declining/accepting invitations, describing people/places. You will also be able to describe aspects of your background, personal anecdotes, habits and circumstances in the past; and recommend/give instructions and speak of future actions .See bottom of page for specific functional and grammatical content.
